General Information about Getting Involved with Life Givers

As you can see from the menu above, there are numerous ways in which you can become involved.

When I first felt called “to do something” for people battling cancer (and this could apply to the diagnosis of any serious illness), I had to ask the question, “What can I do?” The Immediate answer was to BE PRESENT! Come alongside and begin to cultivate the skill of listening. I needed some boldness and the grace to be quiet. You can do the same.

When people hear the diagnosis of a life-threatening, life-altering illness for the first time, it is usually a shock. Probably the last thing they ever expected. But one thing is quite certain, once someone has heard a diagnosis, their life is never ever the same again. This is exactly where we want to enter the picture.

After having been involved with families dealing with serious illness for more than 40 years, and having had cancer in my own family numerous times, this I know. We can make a significant difference and help others see that the “journey can be transformed and the outcomes can be different than most would expect.”

So what should you do? First, you need to believe that there is “hope” and that things can be better than you might expect. We can help you do this. Then you need to begin gathering information for yourself. You can do that through our newsletters, our Blog, the Mobile APP of Dr. Jim’s book,  and other resources.  As you find these things helpful and encouraging, you will hopefully want to move on and either become a regular webinar listener yourself, an online group participant, or sponsor someone else who is in need of help and wants to get involved. It is also best to build a team, undertaking these kinds of situations with someone else, sharing what you learn as you go which in truth is the best way to learn.
