Mary, the maidservant of the Lord, spoke words of great wisdom and faith: “Let it be to me according to your Word (Luke 1:38).”
The word we have been sharing with people now for more than 25 years is taken from the Gospel of John, 10:9-10. Jesus said that “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I am come to give you LIFE and give it to you more abundantly.” I ask you today, as Mary said, “Be it unto me…”, can you say today, “Lord, let your abundant life be for me today..?”
John 10:10 spells out clearly what God’s will is for us. God’s sent His Son so we could know His abundant life. The Epistle of 1st John, chapter 5, verses 14 and 15 say, “Now this is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” That is a clear and simple message.
Whatever condition you may find your self in today, if you can believe, like Mary did, and say Lord, “Be it unto me..” as regards finding the abundant life He speaks of, you can find it. Most people are familiar with John 3:16 where God tells us His purpose in sending His Son, “…that we should not perish but find eternal life.”
That promise is not just future tense. It is present. It is for you now as is John 10:10. The question is, “Will you believe.” If you do, this glorious Easter Sunday, like Mary, you can declare and see it come to pass. “Be it unto me according to your Word.”
